2004 District Tournaments16 Year Old Tournament TeamSpringfield Babe Ruth 16 Year Old Team Captures District VI Title.The Springfield Babe Ruth 16 year olds defeated Greater Fairfax Babe Ruth, 9-4 and again 15-3 to take the District VI title. They then proceeded to the state tournament which was held at Chantilly High School.Springfield Babe Ruth Places 3rd in State 16 Year Old TournamentSpringfield Babe Ruth's 16 year old tournament team did a tremendous job in placing third in the state tournament held at Chantilly High School. The score of their final game was 3-2. They were tied 2-2 in the 7th inning when Williamsburg was able to score the winning run. Placing third was a fine accomplishment for the team which brought them to within one win of participating in the South East Regionals.Congratulations to the team, Springfield Babe Ruth is extremely proud of their 16 year old tournament team. 16-19 Year Old Tournament TeamSpringfield Babe Ruth 16-19 Year Old Team Captures District VI Title.The Springfield Babe Ruth 16-19 year olds defeated Greater Fairfax Babe Ruth and Falls Church Annandale Babe Ruth to take the District VI title. They then proceeded to the state tournament in Richmond. The following bracket is the results of the District Tournament.
Springfield Babe Ruth's 16-19 Year Old Team Places Second In State TournamentSpringfield Babe Ruth's 16-19 year old team had a terrific run in the State Tournament. They won their first two games before losing to Northern Fairfax County to drop to the loser bracket. They then defeated Greater Loudoun 11-10 over two days. They then went against Northern Fairfax again in the championship game where they lost 7-2. They had a terrific run in the tournament.Springfield Babe Ruth is extremely proud of the 16-19 team. Springfield Babe Ruth's 14 Year Old Team Captures District VI Title.The Springfield Babe Ruth 14 year olds defeated Falls Church Annandale Babe Ruth two out of three games to take the District VI title. They are now on to the State Tournament. The scores of the games were:Springfield 3 Falls Church Annandale 2 Falls Church Annandale 9 Springfield 2 Springfield 5 Falls Church Annandale 2 Springfield Babe Ruth's 14 Year Old Team Falls Short of State ChampionshipSBRL won their first game in the State Tournament 11-0 on Friday when they defeated Halifax. However they could not hold off a strong hitting team in Greater Loudoun, losing on Sunday 12-3, then later that night to Williamsburg, 4-0. Springfield Babe Ruth is proud of the district championship and the great effort the team put forth in the State Championship.Springfield Babe Ruth 15 are out of the District VI tournamentSpringfield Babe Ruth 15 year olds lost their bid to go to the State tournament by twice losing to Falls Church Annandale by scores of 8-5 and 7-4.Springfield Babe Ruth management expresses appreciation to the team for their hard work and their representation of Springfield Babe Ruth.
